Braddle95 I was finally able to bring myself to make this video. It's been a rough 2024. I apologize for the late upload. (1 year ago)

Braddle95 I hate writing these….it has now been a week since Rio was laid to rest. Sorry for the late post I’ve been processing a lot. Over this past year he’d been struggling keeping weight. It wasn’t horrible at first but it was an on and off battle where he’d gain then lose and we’d try everything we could. He’d also been dealing with what we believed initially was heaves or COPD. Never kept him from being his normal happy self but it was still something. Yesterday he laid down and we could never get him back up. From what the vet observed it was very possible that he had developed a potential heart problem that though abnormal in horses was not out of the realm of possibilities and could have explained a lot of what had transpired over the past couple months. It was also not something the vets had detected earlier on so it could have quite possibly just recently developed. In short in was a curve ball that couldn’t be avoided. So last night he let me know he was tired and done. He’s been an amazing boy for the over a decade I’ve known him and the for time I’ve gotten to call him mine. He’s a huge love bug who likes to be in your space, he’s got such a goofy personality and my big baby sitter. He’s left quite the hole in my heart and he’s going to be missed horribly. But I know he’s up there in heaven with his best friend he’s had to live without. He and Buddy are finally reunited and get to enjoy those beautiful green pastures together with all the energy they no longer had here. Those who knew Rio loved him and I know you guys will also be mourning with me. But know he was ready and he was my sweet loving boy all the way to the end. I’ll miss you so much my baby boy, you have no idea. (2 years ago (edited))

Braddle95 First off I want to say THANK YOU for all the prayers and reaching out! Update on Zayne he hasn’t had another incident and is back to 100% normal! Praise the Lord! We are watching him but choosing to move on and be back to the normal routine. Again I’m so thankful for you all! (2 years ago)

Braddle95 Hey guys! I wanted to come on here and let you guys know about a situation we just faced, an almost sad ending to the story. 2am on my birthday I was woken up and told Zayne was acting weird. He was showing a lot of symptoms that he’d had a seizure. If you don’t know his mom Molly was around the same age and had a seizure. He also had a sister from an older litter have the same exact thing at the same age. Needless to say we were worried so we took him to the emergency vet. They said he seemed to have the signs of a seizure and kept him over night to watch and see if he’d have another. Praise God he did not, he was back to normal 5 hours later when we picked him up. His mom Molly who we had to put down, had 3 seizures in 24 hours and never recovered which is why we made our decision. Zayne has not had anymore signs of seizing, we think it could possibly be a one time thing. He’s acting normal as if nothing happened. So we’re going to keep going as normal and see what comes next. Prayers are appreciated and we will hopefully not have anymore issues! Thank you! (2 years ago)
